While attending the Sarajevo Film Festival, former X-Files alum Gillian Anderson — who now lives in London — spoke briefly about The X-Files and whether there is any possibility that a third film could be made.
“They talked about maybe doing it in 2012,” she said in an interview reported over at tportal. “I think there were discussions about that. I don’t know whether that’s going to happen or not, but there isn’t any reason not to do it. It was fun, it was hard work. I feel a certain commitment to that group of people that I worked with and we still enjoy doing it, when we do it. There is no reason why not to come together and do it again. If they can pull it off, we’ll find some reason to make it.”
Regarding her relationship with X-Files co-star David Duchovny, Anderson added, “David and I have had a very long, complicated relationship … but we’ve grown very fond of each other.”
The X Files: I Want to Believe (2008) was a critical flop…and a financial disappointment, earning only $68M compared to the $190M earned by the first X-Files film in 1998, Fight the Future.

Keep up the conversation Gillian! Keep it up!
The next one should be better.
